CAS number lookup
Enter a CAS number or a chemical name. The tool validates the CAS check digit, pulls identifiers and the GHS hazard summary from PubChem, and shows whether the substance is in the KORKİMYA catalog. Free, no sign-up.
Frequently asked questions
What is a CAS number and how is the check digit validated?
A CAS number is the unique identifier the Chemical Abstracts Service assigns to a chemical substance, written as three hyphen-separated parts such as 7732-18-5. The last digit is a check digit: the other digits are multiplied from right to left by 1, 2, 3 and so on, and the sum modulo 10 must equal the last digit. The tool does this calculation for you.
Where does the data come from?
Identifiers (name, formula, molecular weight, IUPAC name, InChIKey, SMILES) and the GHS summary are fetched live from PubChem, the open chemistry database of the US National Institutes of Health (NIH). Catalog matches come from the KORKİMYA product catalog.
Is the tool free, and do I need an account?
The tool is free and needs no sign-up. The lookup URL can be shared; anyone who opens the link sees the same result.
Does this result replace a safety data sheet (SDS)?
No. The GHS summary shown is for information only and is not an official SDS. The SDS for KORKİMYA products is available on request.
How do I request a quote?
Press "Request a quote" on the result. The form opens with the name of the matching catalog product, or with the chemical you searched for if there is no match. Add the quantity and delivery details and send it; the sales team will get back to you.
