Phthalic anhydride (CAS 85-44-9, C₈H₄O₃) is a chemical intermediate supplied as white flakes, powder or molten liquid. It is mainly used to produce phthalate plasticisers such as DOP and DINP, alkyd resins, unsaturated polyester resins, paint and coating systems, and pigment and rubber chemicals.
