Acetone (CAS 67-64-1, formula C3H6O, minimum 99.75%) is a colourless, clear industrial solvent. It is mainly used as a solvent in paint and varnish manufacture, in nitrocellulose coating and lacquer formulations, in industrial surface cleaning and degreasing, and as a raw material in methyl methacrylate (MMA) and bisphenol-A (BPA) synthesis.
