What is sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and where is it used?
SLS (CAS 151-21-3) is an anionic surfactant offering strong foaming and excellent wetting. It is used in toothpaste, oral-care products and shampoo bars; in industrial cleaners, heavy-duty degreasers and metal degreasing; and as a stabiliser in emulsion polymerisation, latex production and concrete/gypsum additives.
