Application Areas
For preparing binder solutions in the manufacture of ceramic moulds in investment casting; as a binder component in heat- and chemical/atmospheric-resistant coatings and other areas, where, after hydrolysis in alkaline media, drying or calcination, a hard, durable material is required that is insoluble in water, resistant to high temperatures and shows no corrosive effect; in medicine as a binder in the manufacture of dental prostheses; in construction for impregnating wood to increase its resistance to bacterial attack; in the chemical industry for the production of reactive silicon dioxide and ethylsiloxane fluids; in the optical industry for the production of fibre-optic materials; in the production of high-purity silicon.
