Used as an oxidising agent in various chemical processes and for the neutralisation of cyanide-containing wastewater and waste gases in the gold mining industry. Brand B calcium hypochlorite is also used for the disinfection of drinking and swimming pool water, animal cemeteries, septic tanks and pits, soil and asphalt; for the disinfection of premises where cholera or tuberculosis patients have stayed for long periods, of public spaces (hospitals, schools, kindergartens, camps, holiday villages and guesthouses), of public toilets, of individual residences, of household items (excluding metal items susceptible to corrosion) and of kitchen utensils.

Galvanised steel drums, thin-walled steel drums, lidded steel barrels, polyethylene barrels. Steel drums and barrels shall have polyethylene film inner bags.
Calcium hypochlorite must be stored in the manufacturer's packaging in unheated, well-ventilated, closed warehouse areas protected from atmospheric precipitation and direct sunlight, in stacks. Drums must be stored in an upright position. Stack height shall not exceed three rows. Stacks shall be at most 2 m wide, with at least 1 m of passage between stacks. Stacking up to four rows of product packaging is permitted by agreement with the customer.
By any mode of transport except air freight.
