What is DTO Mid-High Grade and where is it used?
DTO Mid-High Grade (CAS 8002-26-4) is a bio-based mixture obtained by distilling tall oil. With an acid value of min 170, saponification value of min 175 and rosin acid content of max 30%, it has lower rosin acid than the Industrial Grade. It is used in alkyd resin and paint binders, adhesives and fillers, coatings and varnishes, esterification and plasticiser synthesis, and metalworking and cutting fluid formulations.
